The Café Royal Espresso Forte 36 Capsules for Nespresso Coffee Machine sounds like a convenient option for you if you enjoy a strong espresso and use a Nespresso Original machine. Here’s a breakdown of the pros and cons to help you decide:
Pros:
- Nespresso® Original Compatible: Works with your Nespresso® Original machine for convenient use.
- Intensity 8/10: This suggests a strong and flavorful coffee experience, but not overpowering according to the scale.
- Fruity Aroma and Dark Chocolate Hints: Indicate a complex and interesting flavor profile with a balance of sweetness and richness.
- UTZ Certified: Means the coffee beans were sourced in a sustainable manner.
- Recyclable Aluminium Capsules: Eco-friendly option (check your local recycling facilities).
- Bulk Pack (36 Count): Offers a reasonable amount of capsules at a potentially lower price per cup compared to smaller packs.
Cons:
- Limited Description: “Fruity Aroma” and “Dark Chocolate Hints” are general. Reviews might be helpful for a more complete picture of the taste (acidity, bitterness, sweetness level).
- Nespresso® Pod System Cost: Generally more expensive per cup compared to using fresh ground coffee.
Overall, the Café Royal Espresso Forte capsules could be a good option for you if:
- Use a Nespresso® Original machine: These pods are compatible with your machine.
- Enjoy strong espresso: You prefer a bold and flavorful coffee.
- Appreciate interesting flavors: The fruity and chocolate notes suggest a complex taste profile.
- Want UTZ certified coffee: You care about sustainable sourcing practices.
However, if you:
- Prefer very specific flavors: More information about the tasting notes would be helpful. Reviews can offer insights.
- Are on a tight budget: Capsule coffee systems are generally more expensive than fresh ground coffee.
Here are some additional things to consider:
- Research Online Reviews: See if reviews mention the specific taste profile (acidity, bitterness, sweetness) and how it compares to other Nespresso® capsules.
- Alternatives: Explore other Nespresso® compatible capsules with strong intensity ratings and flavor descriptions that mention fruit and chocolate notes. You might also find value packs from other brands that offer similar strong espresso profiles at a potentially lower cost per capsule. Consider refillable pod options for your Nespresso® machine if you desire greater control over the coffee, potentially a lower cost per cup, and are even more eco-conscious about single-use capsules. Refillable pods sometimes allow you to experiment with your own preferred espresso beans.

The coffee tastes very good having the right strength for my taste.
Aluminium packaging meaning recyclable even with Nespresso capsule return programme. Aluminium also keeps the coffee aroma sealed very well inside the capsule comparing to the plastic ones. I would be careful of drinking from plastic containers anyway.
Cons:
Only one so far – sometimes there is a bit of water coming out of it when it starts the pour. The capsules I’ve received were in perfect condition hence I’m not sure what’s causing it. In my case that doesn’t impact much of the taste still hence the full 5 start rating.

I’ve been ordering these for a long time and I think I they taste the best
They pour extremely well. Every time
And they are very good value. I buy these every time to make any Amazon orders over £20 so I don’t have to pay any postage
I would certainly recommended them
I think Cafe Royal are very good 😊

I’ve been ordering the older design for a year and I like the coffee. The new aluminium pods have replaced the older plastic pods (a positive environmental move), but 7 of the 36 pods are crushed. 4 are damaged beyond use, the other 3 I’ll have to wait and see.
You don’t get that with the Nespresso original aluminium pods. It could be to do with the box, as the containing Nespresso box is a thicker cardboard and the pod boxes stack them in a row, rather than the flat Cafe Royale box.
I’d also ordered 100 Vanilla pods, so I’ll see whether they are the same…
