Nesquik Hot Chocolate is a popular choice, particularly for families with children. Here’s a breakdown to help you decide if it’s a good fit for you:
Pros:
- Familiar Brand: Nesquik is a well-known brand known for its chocolatey taste.
- Fortified with Vitamins and Minerals (Likely): Many Nesquik varieties are fortified with Vitamin D and sometimes other vitamins and minerals.
- Suitable for Children: Generally considered a kid-friendly option due to its mild sweetness and lack of complex flavors.
- Convenient: Requires just adding hot water or milk for quick preparation.
- Decent Size (400g): Suitable for regular hot chocolate drinkers or small families.
- Affordable (Likely): Nesquik is generally a budget-friendly option.
Cons:
- Sweeter Taste: Nesquik is known for its sweeter taste, which might not be ideal for everyone.
- Lower Cocoa Content (Likely): Compared to some options, Nesquik might have a lower cocoa content, resulting in a less intense chocolate flavor.
- Not Pre-Portioned: Requires measuring with tablespoons, which can be messy.
Overall, Nesquik Hot Chocolate could be a good option for you if:
- You’re looking for a familiar and affordable hot chocolate option.
- You’re making hot chocolate for children who enjoy a sweeter taste.
- You prioritize convenience and quick preparation.
- You don’t mind pre-measuring and are okay with a milder chocolate flavor.
However, if you:
- Prefer a less sweet or more intense chocolate flavor, you might want to look elsewhere.
- Need to know the exact ingredients or avoid certain allergens, you’ll need to search for the specific Nesquik variety’s ingredients list.
- Prefer pre-portioned options or a more adult-oriented taste profile, this might not be ideal.
Here are some additional things to consider:
- Price: Search online to find the price of the 400g Nesquik Hot Chocolate to confirm it fits your budget.
- Ingredients: Search for the specific Nesquik variety you’re considering to see the ingredients list, including sugar content, cocoa content, and any allergens.
- Varieties: Nesquik offers different varieties, so you might find one with less sugar or added flavors depending on your preference.
I hope this helps you decide whether the familiar brand name, affordability, convenience, and potential for added vitamins and minerals in Nesquik Hot Chocolate outweigh the potential for a sweeter taste and lower cocoa content.

~~~~Original Review~~~~~
Purchased this NESQUIK HOT CHOCOLATE (because they enjoyed the milkshake version so much in the heatwaves & it was a perfect way to get them to drink more liquid, when hot & flustered..)
*Bought THIS hot chocolate for the little ones, to make ‘Warm You Up” Hot Chocolates to take in a flask on damp cold autumn walks & winter bike rides to park & playground or windy a beach.
[Plus usually have a few little (or chopped up) marshmallows in a bag too, to top off the hot chocolate once poured, as it makes it that little more exciting & looks more like the ones they used to have at Cafe.)
*EARLIER THIS YEAR, Hot Chocolate at beach cafe. It was £3 a cup.. £12 for hot chocolates each weekend is a LOT, in current cost of living situation.
*So ordered a Tin of hot chocolate & some marshmallows, both together cost under £8. (different hot chocolate at that point. Well known coffee shop make)
*The first time the little ones had one at home, their little eyes lit up as they spotted all the MarshMallows floating on the top of their frothy Hot Chocolate & when they counted how many there were, the fact it was more than they ever got at the Beach Cafe meant that they now preferred to have HOME MADE Hot Chocolate Treats instead.
*Then we started putting hot chocolate into a flask or equivalent, & taking it out with us,, not forgetting to take some Marshmallows in a zip bag, which top it off in the plastic cups nicely.
[The original tin of hot chocolate & marshmallows lasted 7 Sundays.. (£8, plus heated milk.)
Compared to 7x £12= £84 at Beach Cafe.
It was a huge saving & the little ones never even thought they were missing out on anything, by not going to the cafes. Infact they LOVE having a HOMEMADE FLASK Hot Chocolate, sitting on rocks, or a fallen tree, or laughing as it steams up the car windows because it is hot & outside is cold & pouring with rain, & we have made many SPECIAL MEMORIES.]
******WITH AUTUMN CHILLING & WINTER AROUND THE CORNER. IT IS HOT CHOCOLATE TIME AGAIN****** AND AS THEY HAVE ENJOYED NESQUIK MILKSHAKES SO MUCH THROUGH THE SUMMER, THOUGHT WE WOULD TRY THEIR HOT CHOCOLATE VERSION…
[400g =£2.60 + £1.15 for marshmallows = £3.65.] The previous brand 400g hot chocolate tin lasted 7 Sundays, of flasks…..
*if this lasts as long, it will all have cost less than 1/2 the price we paid back in February for starB hot chocolate & mini marshmallows, and a fraction (less than a 20th) of the £84 it would cost at the cafe.
*So even more of a saving, cutting back does not always have to mean No Treats.
WE hope this gives you your own ideas too & helps you make an informed decision.
#### UPDATED MARCH 2024…. THEY DO REALLY ENJOY THIS NESQUIK HOT CHOCOLATE,
& MARSH MALLOWS, IT HAS SAVED US £££s.####
#### ITS MORE OF A CHOCOLATY MILKY DRINK THAN SOME HOT CHOCOLATES, BUT IT IS SPECIFICALLY AIMED AT CHILDREN & IS PERFECT FOR LITTLE ONES & BARGAIN TOO.###
