The NEW Amorcaffe 50 Compostable Compatible Nespresso Coffee Capsules Pods sound like an eco-conscious option for you if you enjoy a slow-roasted Arabica coffee and use a Nespresso® Original machine. Here’s a breakdown of the pros and cons to help you decide:
Pros:
- Nespresso® Original Compatible: Works with your Nespresso® Original machine for convenient use.
- Top Arabica Taste: Suggests a focus on high-quality beans, known for a smoother taste and higher acidity compared to Robusta beans.
- Slow Roast: Generally results in a smoother, more balanced flavor with less acidity compared to a light roast.
- Compostable Pods: Eco-friendly option if your local composting program accepts them.
- Plastic Free: Reduces environmental impact.
Cons:
- Limited Description: “Top Arabica Taste” and “Slow Roast” are general descriptions. Reviews might be helpful for a more complete picture of the taste (acidity, bitterness, sweetness level).
- Unknown Intensity: The description doesn’t mention intensity level. Reviews might mention this.
- Nespresso® Pod System Cost: Generally more expensive per cup compared to using fresh ground coffee.
Overall, the NEW Amorcaffe capsules could be a good option for you if:
- Use a Nespresso® Original machine: These pods are compatible with your machine.
- Enjoy Arabica coffee: You prefer a smoother taste profile.
- Appreciate slow roasts: You prefer a balanced and less acidic coffee.
- Eco-conscious: You care about compostable pods and plastic-free packaging.
However, if you:
- Need a very clear idea of the taste: More information about the tasting notes would be helpful. Reviews can offer insights.
- Need to know exact strength: The description doesn’t mention intensity level. Reviews might be helpful here.
- Are on a tight budget: Capsule coffee systems are generally more expensive than fresh ground coffee.
Here are some additional things to consider:
- Research Online Reviews: See what other users mention about the taste profile (acidity, bitterness, sweetness level) and how well they compost.
- Alternatives: Explore other Nespresso® compatible capsules with Arabica beans and slow roast descriptions. You might also find value packs from other eco-conscious brands that offer similar profiles at a potentially lower cost per capsule. Consider refillable pod options for your Nespresso® machine if you desire greater control over the coffee (strength, roast), potentially a lower cost per cup, and are even more eco-conscious about single-use capsules. Refillable pods sometimes allow you to experiment with your own preferred coffee beans.

I purchased the product as I was drawn to the fact that they were compostable but they are NOT compatible with Nespresso as advertised. The water would not draw through the pods and if I tried to reuse them the casing becomes too torn and ended up with lots of granules coming through.
Needless to say I was Very disappointed and even more so when I discovered the product is not return or replaceable (I know I should have read this before purchase) So it has been a complete Waste of money.
I realise it’s difficult to find materials that are both robust and compostable but it has to be fit for both purposes before putting on sell!
Will be returning to using recyclable aluminium pods (unfortunately).

I thought I would give these a try. I liked the compact presentation, I liked the aroma and I have to say that the taste is nice, mellow, not bitter and full flavour.
There is such an enormous selection of pods out there that it almost becomes stressful to make a choice when you fancy a cuppa.
I think as I run my stocks down I could well end up standardising on this as my pod of choice and getting my cupboard space back in the kitchen.
The pods seem to work fine. I may be imagining that you end up with a few ml less of coffee in the cup than other pods and it seems to take a second or two longer to come but I can always add a drop of boiling water if I want more.
The price is good compared to Nespresso and other premium makes so Its worth investing to get a nice tasting coffee at a reasonable price.

I love the Nespresso coffee, but cannot justify its price which more than double than this brand and especially with the unhealthy amount of coffee I drink.
I have tried other brands, many other brands and regularly scour the supermarkets for offers, can you believe that Tesco’s own pods are the price that Nespresso charge? If I were to pay that much I’d get the Nespresso pods! BUT then why buy Nespresso, when for the same price I can get double the quantity (remember I drink a lot of coffee) from Amorcaffe?
The coffee I am currently drinking is a latte made with 1% fat pasteurised milk, there is a velvety taste with a hint of chocolate that goes well with a Rich Tea, or Digestive biscuit (ok maybe a packet of biscuits, what can I say? I’m a pig?)
Would I buy this product again? Would I recommend it to a friend?
This coffee holds it’s own with the big aftermarket pod brands like Starbucks, Taylors, Café Pod, L’or etc.., and supermarket offerings and is cheaper which translates into either more cash in your pocket or more coffee to drink.
I will buy again, if you are sensible you would at least try this coffee, after all £13.99p for a hundred pods is pretty good value and for that money I don’t think you will be disappointed.

I like the minimal amount of packaging but it’s a shame that the pods are single-use non-recycleable plastic, although I’m sure this is a major factor in the low unit cost and I’d be interested to know how many people actually recycle their aluminium pods anyway. These pods seem to pierce OK in our machine and there haven’t been any fails so far.
