The STARBUCKS Decaf Espresso Roast Nespresso Capsules (80 count) sounds like a good option for you if you enjoy dark roast decaf espresso and use a Nespresso® Original machine. Here’s a breakdown of the pros and cons to help you decide:
Pros:
- Nespresso® Original Compatible: Works with your Nespresso® Original machine for convenient use.
- Decaf: Great for those who want to avoid caffeine.
- Dark Roast: Generally offers a bold and intense flavor profile, even in decaf versions.
- Rich & Caramelly Notes: Suggests a pleasant and well-rounded flavor profile for a decaf dark roast.
- Starbucks Brand: A popular coffee brand known for its quality and consistent roast profiles.
- Bulk Pack (80 Count): Offers a good amount of capsules at a potentially lower price per cup compared to smaller packs.
Cons:
- Limited Information on Decaf Process: The description doesn’t mention the decaffeination method used.
- Unknown Intensity Level: While it mentions a dark roast, there’s no specific intensity level mentioned on a scale (e.g., Nespresso’s 1-11 scale).
- Nespresso® Pod System Cost: Generally more expensive per cup compared to using fresh ground coffee.
Overall, this STARBUCKS Decaf Espresso Roast Pod Pack could be a good option for you if:
- Use a Nespresso® Original machine: These pods are compatible with your machine.
- Prefer decaf espresso: You’re looking for a flavorful decaf option with a dark roast profile.
- Enjoy Starbucks Coffee: You appreciate the Starbucks brand’s coffee flavor profile.
- Want convenient capsules: You prefer the ease of pre-portioned coffee pods.
However, if you:
- Are interested in a specific decaf process: Swiss Water, CO2, etc. The description doesn’t mention the decaf method.
- Need to know exact strength: The intensity level is not specified.
- Are on a tight budget: Nespresso® pods are generally more expensive than fresh ground coffee.
Here are some additional things to consider:
- Research Online Reviews: See if reviews mention the decaf process, intensity level, and taste profile in more detail.
- Alternatives: Explore other Nespresso® compatible decaf espresso pods with detailed information about the decaf process, intensity level, and flavor descriptions. You might also find value packs from other brands that offer similar dark roast decaf profiles at a potentially lower cost per capsule. Consider refillable pod options for your Nespresso® machine if you desire greater control over the coffee, potentially a lower cost per cup, and are eco-conscious about single-use capsules.

Proper Starbucks Espresso capsules made with premium materials (like the real Nespresso capsules), but at the price of budget pods which normally are made from plastic. Which makes a real difference to quality and taste.
Costs:
Only purchased on sale for around £20. But last for weeks with the amount you get. Additionally massive savings compared to going to a Starbucks.
All worked out: £20 per 80 capsules, that’s £0.25 a shot. VS the £3.50+ they charge these days its a no brainer.
Taste:
You can tell the difference between a cheap pod and a proper pod. I often use syrups but even then the taste still shines through. I personally do a double shot (two pods) with warmed milk to create a Latte and honestly wouldn’t be able to tell the difference between a proper coffee from a Starbucks store and the ones I make at home.

You do get the occasional mis shapen one which doesn’t “pop” properly, but usually lifting the arm and re-doing it fixes that.
The taste is great.
