The Starbucks Italian Style Roast by Nespresso sounds like a convenient option for Nespresso® Original machine users who enjoy dark roast coffee with a Starbucks flavor profile. Here’s a breakdown of the pros and cons to help you decide:
Pros:
- Nespresso® Original Compatible: Works with your Nespresso® Original machine for easy use.
- Starbucks Brand: A popular brand known for its coffee flavors.
- Dark Roast: Offers a bold and intense flavor profile.
- 60 Capsules (Bulk Pack): Provides a decent amount of capsules for regular Nespresso® Original machine users.
Cons:
- Limited Flavor Description: “Italian Roast” describes the roast profile but not necessarily the specific flavor. More details about the coffee origin or specific taste characteristics (acidity, sweetness) would be helpful.
- Unknown Intensity: The description doesn’t specify the exact intensity level on Nespresso’s scale.
- Nespresso® Pod System Cost: Generally more expensive per cup compared to using fresh ground coffee.
Overall, this Starbucks Italian Style Roast Pod Pack could be a good option for you if:
- Use a Nespresso® Original machine: These pods are compatible with your machine.
- Enjoy dark roast coffee: You prefer a bold and intense cup.
- Like Starbucks coffee: You’re familiar with and enjoy the Starbucks flavor profile.
- Want a convenient bulk pack: The 60 count offers a good amount of capsules.
However, if you:
- Prefer very specific flavor profiles: More information about the coffee origin, specific flavor notes (acidity, sweetness), and intensity level would be helpful.
- Are on a tight budget: Nespresso® pods are generally more expensive than fresh ground coffee.
- Want maximum control over coffee strength: The exact intensity level is not specified.
Here are some additional things to consider:
- Flavor Profile: Research online reviews to understand the specific taste characteristics of Starbucks Italian Roast capsules, including specific flavor notes and intensity.
- Alternatives: Explore other Nespresso® Original compatible dark roast pods from different brands with more detailed flavor descriptions. Consider refillable pod options for Nespresso® machines if you desire greater control over the coffee, potentially a lower cost per cup, and are eco-conscious about single-use capsules. You might also find value packs from other brands that offer similar dark roast profiles at a potentially lower cost per capsule.

However they are very inconsistent pod to pod / batch to batch. Sometimes they are world beating coffee, next time I have to tip it out.
They dont really have much competition so i stick with them. Costa pods are getting better tho. These SB pods still are still top of the league for me.
Nesspresso pods make great coffee, but you have to take a mortgage out to drink coffee.

I even enjoy the decaf one at nights! Lots of different strengths and flavours and I definitely think it’s worth paying a little extra. To me, they deliver better value than the nespresso original capsules, for less the price!
