I opened my latest bag today and scooped out a small handful of tea pearls for my afternoon cup – and embedded in one of the pearls there was a long, course, black hair… It’s woven very firmly into the pearl. . I feel really repulsed now by the possibility of more hairs being in this pack, or goodness knows what else..? Yuck! I have sent an email with photos to Tealyra and if I hear back from them I’ll come back and edit this post.
Edit: I have had a response from Tealyra saying that hair sometimes gets into the tea in China and is not due to unhygienic processing practices. They have given me a refund, which I appreciate.

This imperial grade has a lovely Jasmine scent and taste and is nice and mellow to taste.
I highly recommend trying this grade.
I wasn’t happy that 5 days later the price went up by £3, because I was thinking of buying another pouch.
