The TWOMEOW Stovetop Coffee Maker appears to be a Moka Pot designed for brewing strong coffee on a stovetop. Here’s a breakdown of its features to help you decide if it’s a good fit for you:
Possible Pros:
- Strong Coffee: Like most Moka Pots, it brews a strong, concentrated brew similar to espresso, but not quite as intense.
- Transparent Top Lid: Allows you to monitor the brewing process and avoid overflows without lifting the lid, potentially reducing the risk of spills or burns.
- Classic Aluminum Construction: Aluminum is a common and affordable material for Moka Pots, offering good heat distribution.
- 6 Cup Capacity: Brews up to 300ml (around 6 cups) of coffee, suitable for a small pot or several servings.
- Orange/Black Color Scheme: Might add a pop of color to your kitchen countertop.
Possible Cons:
- Not True Espresso: While it brews strong coffee, Moka Pots don’t reach the high pressure of professional espresso machines.
- Attention Required: You’ll need to watch the Moka Pot while it brews and remove it from heat when finished to avoid burnt coffee.
- Learning Curve: There might be a bit of a learning curve to perfect the grind size and coffee-to-water ratio for the best results.
- Aluminum Material: Some prefer stainless steel for durability or aesthetics. Aluminum may scratch or dent more easily.
Overall, the TWOMEOW Stovetop Coffee Maker could be a good option for those who:
- Enjoy strong coffee: If you prefer a bolder coffee than drip coffee, a Moka Pot is a good alternative.
- Want to see the brewing process: The transparent top lid allows you to monitor coffee extraction.
- Like a colorful design: The orange and black color scheme might appeal to you.
- Are on a budget: Aluminum Moka Pots are generally more affordable than stainless steel options.
However, if you:
- Need true espresso for latte art or other drinks: A Moka pot won’t replicate the high pressure needed for true espresso.
- Prefer a completely hands-off brewing experience: Moka pots require attention during the brewing process.
- Want a more durable material: Stainless steel Moka Pots might be a better choice if you prefer durability over affordability.
Here are some additional things to consider when purchasing a TWOMEOW Stovetop Coffee Maker:
- Reviews: Read reviews from other users to get a sense of the quality, performance, ease of use, and durability of the transparent lid and aluminum construction.
- Alternatives: Explore Moka Pots from other brands with similar features, or consider established brands known for their quality Moka Pots, which might offer stainless steel options.
- Grind Size and Coffee: Moka pots typically require a finer grind size than drip coffee makers. You might need to adjust your grind or buy a grinder if you don’t already have one.

The good:
– does what it’s suppose to do
– coffee tastes fine
-seems sturdy (on my previous moka pot the plastic handle got broken which made it very hard to hold after brewing or pour without spilling)
The bad:
– Formulation of black spots at the bottom of the pot inside as seen on the photo (supposedly harmless, by-product of aluminum oxidation)
-As others have mentioned it leaks while browing (it’s hard to see on the photos but there are spots on the stove plate after brewing ).
-Lastly, the rubber gum near the filter area is flimsy.
Conclusion: the price-performance ratio of this moka pot is impressive. It produces decent coffee and appears to have a long lifespan. If you’re a student or looking for a budget-friendly option, this is a product worth considering.

While I hit the extreme with a third degree burn on my leg from this,
It needs to be rethought.
The spout is way too low meaning when you pick up the full pot,
Coffee immediately starts coming out no matter if it’s level or not

There are important differences: the Bialetti is heavier, takes therefore a little longer to brew, but feels more solid. The biggest difference tho’ is the size of the filter funnel: the Twomeow is smaller than the Bialetti, so the quantity and strength is less.
There are no issues with either, the top fills with coffee almost to the top of the funnel and neither leak (if either leaks – send it back and replace).
The coffee tastes delicious from both: the ideal is to have both! This one, the Twomeow, costs just over £20 and the Bialetti just over £30.
Congratulations to both companies!
